For the Christian childbirth educator/doula, have mom copy Scripture that have been meaningful to her through her pregnancy onto 3"x5" index cards. Mom can read them or be read to during labor, and their pocket size makes them handy to transport.

A variation of this would be to write affirmations or birth quotes on index cards for mothers who are not Christian.
