Stomp Squat

The stomp-squat is used when the baby is asynclitic (head slightly crooked) in the mother's pelvis or for mothers whose babies need to descend further into the pelvis. The caregiver stomps and the mother imitates this as she walks. When the contraction reaches its peak, the mother squats. A variation (stomp-squat-push) can be used in the second stage.
