Immanuel Retreat Center

Your workshop will be held at the secluded Immanuel Retreat Center southwest of Spruce Grove. It is a place of solitude in a country setting fully equipped with six bedrooms with attached two piece baths, meeting room with AV equipment, lounge area and full kitchen facilities.

Take 16A East and turn left on Rosenthal Road (gravel road for two miles). Turn right at the stop sight and the Immanuel Retreat Center is one mile west on the right side of the road. Alternative: Continue on 16A East until Stony Plain. Take the Stony Plain overpass (turn right) and drive through Stony Plain to the next intersection and turn right. There is a large Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rosenthal sign at the intersection. The Immanuel Retreat Center is three miles west.

Highway 16 West toward Jasper. Take the Stony Plain overpass and drive through Stony Plain to the next intersection and turn right. There is a large Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rosenthal sign at the intersection. The Immanuel Retreat Center is three miles west.

Highway 16A West and take the Stony Plain overpass, turn to enter Stony Plain. Drive through Stony Plain to the next intersection and turn right. There is a large Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rosenthal sign at the intersection. The Immanuel Retreat Center is three miles west.

Take Highway #2 toward Edmonton. Take Devon off ramp and drive to Devon. Turn right onto Highway #60. Take #60 North to 16A. Take 16A West to the Stony Plain overpass, turn to enter Stony Plain. Drive through Stony Plain to the next intersection and turn right. There is a large Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rosenthal sign at the intersection. The Immanuel Retreat Center is three miles west.

Airport Information

Our workshops are a convenient 25 minutes north of the Edmonton International Airport (YEG) for participants who will be flying to attend a workshop.

Accommodations

We now have on-site accommodations available for workshop participants. Very affordable at only $15 per night! Please indicate on your registration form if you would be interested in this option and we will contact you with further information. If you prefer to stay at an alternative location, options include:

Stony Plain

Spruce Grove

We are working in conjunction with the library in making available all required reading texts as well as other pertinent perinatal books for your convenience. Devonian Botanical Garden

Only twenty minutes southeast of Stony Plain, the Devonian Botanic Garden is a breathtaking must-see for anyone who loves the outdoors. The Garden includes an authentic Japanese Garden, attractive floral gardens, collections of native and alpine plants, and ecological reserves, and is situated within an attractive rolling landscape of pine trees and wetlands. Connected gardens extend over 80 acres with an additional 110 acres of natural areas for visitors to enjoy.

The Devonian Botanic Garden is a regional centre for horticultural and environmental collections of living plants and fungi. The collections serve as repositories for native Alberta species and specimens of botanical, horticultural, historical, medicinal, and geographic significance collected worldwide. The Garden site is made up of a series of display gardens complemented by several areas of natural forest and wetland preserves which allow observation of native flora and fauna.
